Apple TV or gaming console? Which one should you buy?

With the 4th Gen Apple TV you get to download a ton of games (a lot for free) for just $150: Expensive for a streaming box, cheap for a gaming console.

Apple TV has been popular since 3rd Gen that allows you to watch 75+ different channels (most of them you have to pay) and it's mainly purpose (I suppose) was to make your TV Smart. Because since the first Apple TV not everyone had a Smart TV, most of the were non-Smart TVs, an Apple TV allowed you to watch Netflix, Hulu, HBO and more streaming services. Apple was upgrading the Apple TV as a streaming box until they reached 1080p video output. Now what, that's the top of streaming boxes back then, Smart TVs were being launched, and it became completely unnecesary to buy an Apple TV 3rd Gen these days (2014-15).

So... why not do an Apple TV that can do more than just watch Netflix. So, they made a whole new look for tvOS, added a lot of features, added Siri (which is very useful BTW), and the most important thing: an App Store.

So, now you're not just paying for a streaming box, you're paying for a lot more, incluiding games in your big screen. So...

Does it worth buying an Apple TV 4th Gen and up just for Netflix and more stuff?

No. You have airplay, or mirror cast, or a Smart TV. If you buy an Apple TV 4th Gen, don't buy it just for watching Netflix and HBO, use all of it's potential. Play with the Apple TV, sing, ask Siri stuff about anything, make use of that.

What if I just like it and only use it for streaming services?

Then buy the 4K, I know what you may be thinking: "But I don't have a 4K TV." Eventually, you'll have one. Would you rather buying the 4th Gen and upgrading for $180 more later or just pay $30 more at the beginning? Think about it. Also, make sure that you have Apple devices before buying any Apple TV. Apple compability is only between Apple devices, this means you can't Airplay (sound or video), you can't connect your phone (officially at least) to your Apple TV and a lot more. Be sure that you have an iPod, iPad, Mac, iPhone, anything, otherwise you will regret buying the Apple TV.

What if I want to use Apple TV as a gaming console?

You can! But it will not be the same... If you mean a gaming console to play games such as GTA V, Call of Duty, and other famous Video Games, then don't buy it. Because you have streaming services in your Xbox, PlayStation or Wii. But, if you won't mind playing some family games or replacing some famaous games with Asphalt 8, Real Racing 3, Modern Combat 5, Suicide Squad, Just Dance Now (these ones are pretty good), then you have nothing to lose.

Note: Also you can look for a lot of Apple TV hacks like watching Live TV, adding Popcorn Time and Safari.

Apple TV 4th Gen has a lot of potential and you shouldn't waste it. That's why I wrote this, to help you choose better. And that's what this blog is about (my opinion of tech and more stuff). If you're still a little undecided then, ask LiveChat, maybe they can help.

New Apple device! Should you buy the HomePod?

A couple months ago, Apple announced that the HomePod would be coming on December 2017. It didn't, so most of us, Apple users, were waiting for the HomePod to come out. You can buy it already, but... Is it worth it? What is a HomePod? Basically, is a smart speaker that can also control your HomeKit-supported devices, like light bulbs, thermostast, locks, windows, everything. What can I do with it? You can put some music, either from Apple Music or Spotify (use Apple Music to have it's full potential, otherwise, it would not worth it), you can, like I said, control your smart devices, make hands-free calls (coming on a future update), connect 2 of them for streaming the same music through all the house (also on a future update), ask the News, Weather, read your text messages, anything. It's Siri in a speaker. Why should I buy it? You should buy it if: You have an Apple Music subscription. HomePod works way better with Apple Music, is not the same with Spotify, a ...

New DJI Mavic Air! Which drone should you buy?

So, a couple days ago, DJI released the DJI Mavic Air , which has a lot of features but still costs over $500 ($800). The Mavic Air is not intended to be a professional product, more like a personal product, a product that you would take to create cool videos of yourself or your family, your friends, whatever, just like the Mavic Pro , especially if you travel a lot. The Mavic Pro was foldable (which means you can take it wherever you want) but too expensive (which means you can't buy it right away). The DJI Spark was affordable but non-foldable (which means is not that easy to take it wherever you want without being damaged). Still, the DJI Spark was the best choice in terms of quality and price, especially with this new gesture-control technology, but you had to buy the remote separately to unlock the full experience of a drone. Then, the Mavic Air came out, combinating those 2 key features of the previous models, finally having low price, gesture technology, full dron...
